Summary Administration In Las Vegas
What Is Summary Probate Administration?
When the assets held in a decedent’s estate are valued at less than $300,000, the estate may be able to proceed through summary probate administration. This is a process that is relatively similar to general probate administration, but there are fewer steps and it proceeds more quickly. Summary administration is only possible in certain circumstances. An experienced attorney can help you understand whether this process is an option for you.
How Is Summary Administration Different From General Administration?
In a summary probate administration, there is no requirement to file notification of the initial court hearing and petition. Also, the creditors’ claim period is shortened from 90 days to 60. Formal court hearings are still necessary throughout the summary probate process.
